Be Colourful and creative with your community, to raise awareness for Breast Cancer

Has arrived

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

This year, I would love people to pick ONE TREE in a public area, down a main road, wrap it and spread more awareness!

I want people to wonder, “Why is that tree pink?”

  • In a mirror, look for any dimpling, rashes, or pitting in your breasts.

  • Place your arm behind your head and use the pads of your fingers to feel your breast tissue in a methodical pattern, such as circular/clockwise, pie wedges, and vertical (up and down) pictured above.

  • As you continue circling, move from light to medium to firm pressure to check if anything feels sore, lumpy, or unusual at each level of tissue.

  • Squeeze each nipple to check for discharge or inverted nipples.

  • Take your time to examine both breasts, nipples, and armpit lymph nodes, so you can establish what's normal for your unique breasts and more easily identify when something feels different.

Remember, to self exam yourself as Early detection can one day save your life!

In support of this, I would like to reach out to our community. I will be raising funds for this important cause, while raising funds for my own treatment against Metastatic Breast Cancer.

To raise donations and funds for myself, I have decided to make a statement. Members of the community are invited to purchase 2m of pink fabric with a pink ribbon, from myself, which will be used to wrap the trees that line the streets from the 1st October and can be kept up all year round if its on your own personal pavement. The effect is nothing short of breathtaking and raises both awareness and funds in order to improve the lives of those living with Breast Cancer.

Price per packets is R100 (which has 2m x 1.5m of pink fabric) 1 packet per tree.

Delivery charges separately
