My name is Ashleigh, I'm a daughter, wife, mom, friend, Interior Designer and fighter of MBC. What does MBC stand for? Metastatic Breast Cancer. Mine has however spread to the liver, bone and breast.I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2016 at the ripe age of 33. I underwent chemo, surgery, radiation and target treatment. I was cancer free for 4 and a half years. On the 26th December 2020, I ended up at the emergency room during the 3rd wave of covid, to be told i needed to contact my oncologist as it looks like my cancer had returned in the liver, my heart just broke into a million pieces. I was then booked into Donald Gordon for a week whilel they got the infection under control and a liver biopsy was done. I was completely alone, no family where allowed to visit as the 3rd wave of covid was in place. In the darkest time of my life i was told it looks like cancer and there are many stops throughout the liver. I had to dig deep down to control my emotions as i waited for the biopsy results. On new years eve i was discharged. and spent the next week crying none stop waiting for the test results. And then the words arrive; "Your cancer has returned and it's in the liver."
